Tolerances
If English unit is a fraction, ±1/32 inch, (0.8 mm), if English unit is a decimal, ±0.015 inch, (0.4 mm).

Material
Base - Aluminum 6061-T6
Case - Steel

Finish
Black flat lacquer per FED-STD-595, Color 37038

Mounting
6-32 THD inserts 5/32 minimum depth are provided in baseplate.  Steel 6-32 bolts American Standard, Unified National Fine Series, slotted studs are supplied with each unit.  Metric hardware and inserts available as a special order.

Connections
The overvoltage protector should be connected to the Abbott power module as shown in Figure 1.  Use a Bussman Mfg. Co. Type GBB Tron Rectifier fuse or equivalent with a current rating as indicated on the power supply identification label.

Setting the Trip-Point Voltage
With an adjustable laboratory power supply adjusted to 0 volts output, connect the OVP module in the circuit as shown in Figure II.  Select the resistance R, required to limit the current in this circuit to 0.2 amps at the desired trip-point voltage.   Increase the voltage of the power supply slowly and observe the voltage reading on the DC volt-meter until the voltage suddenly drops.  This is the trip-point voltage of the OVP module.  The trip-point voltage setting can be increased by adjusting the potentiometer on the OVP module clockwise, and decreased by adjusting it counterclockwise.
